Omaha Storm Chasers News Release
OMAHA, NE - After not seeing Rosenblatt Stadium since June 8th, the Omaha Royals return home on Saturday, June 27th. The Royals open a seven-game home stand with a 7:05 p.m. game against the Albuquerque Isotopes and resume the month-long celebration of drawing 11-million fans in the team's 41-year history. The Triple-A club reached that attendance milestone on May 28th.
"The upcoming seven-game home stand is packed with many great promotions," said Royals Vice President/General Manager Martie Cordaro. "We're excited to welcome back the O-Royals after their 16-day road trip."
A highlight of the upcoming home stand comes on Monday, June 29th, when all eleven-year old fans will get free admission to the Royals 7:05 p.m. game, presented by 89.7 The River and the Daily Nonpareil. That night's game will also feature $1 hot dogs, courtesy of Rotella's Italian Bakery.
The Albuquerque series June 27-30 represent the final four of eleven June home dates. At each of those games, one fan will be randomly selected to win a prize package including: four Reserved seat tickets to the 25th annual Omaha World-Herald Fireworks by Grucci Spectacular on Friday, July 3rd; a trip to the Great Wolf Lodge; a gift certificate to the Royal Treasures gift shop at Rosenblatt.
The eleven prize winners in June will be brought onto the field following the July 3rd game and one of those will be announced as the winner of the 11-Millionth Fan Grand Prize, which includes: a 32-inch flat screen TV; two Reserved season tickets for the final season at Rosenblatt in 2010; a Royals game day hat; a jersey with the number 11,000,000 printed on the back.
Also during the upcoming home stand, the Royals are partnering with the Salvation Army and KETV Seven Can Help Kids to collect new school supplies for metro area students. Fans are asked to bring new school supplies to the Royals game vs. the New Orleans Zephyrs on Thursday, July 2nd at 7:05 p.m. The Salvation Army, which will distribute the supplies next month, says more than 77,000 children have been helped since the program began in 1998.
The home stand culminates on Friday, July 3rd with the 25th annual Independence Day Fireworks by Grucci spectacular, presented by the Omaha World-Herald, City of Omaha, Star 104.5 and the Omaha Royals. Stadium gates open at 4:00 p.m. and from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. the USAF Heartland of America Band presents its hottest popular ensemble, RAPTOR, in the ballpark's front plaza. Game time is 6:35 p.m. and between innings fans will be entertained by the world-famous Bucket Boys and their dazzling performances playing five-gallon plastic buckets. The Confidentials perform from a stage in the right-center field bleachers between the end of the game and the best fireworks show in the Midwest. A $3 shuttle service will be running from Westroads and Oakview to Rosenblatt between 3:45 and 7:00 p.m. and back to the malls at the end of the night.
For tickets, call the Royals ticket office at (402) 738-5100, or order and print tickets online at www.oroyals.com and at www.Etix.com.
