Game Keys - Iowa sent 11 batters to the plate pounded out six singles and scored 6 runs in the third inning to defeat the Zephyrs 7-3 on Friday night in front of 10,835 fans at Principal Park. The loss is the Zephyrs fourth in their last 5 games.

Iowa starting pitcher Jeff Samardzija started off slow allowing a two run home run in the first to John Lindsey. The Z's had two more hits in the second inning but could not capitalize. The I-Cubs offense scored 6 of its seven runs in the 3rd enroute to its second consecutive win. The former Notre Dame receiver pitched seven innings allowed three runs on 8 hits for the win.

The Zephyrs starter Rick VandenHurk had his worst outing of the year. He allowed the 6 run third inning and did not return. New Orleans returns home Saturday to open a four game set against Memphis.

Game Notes: After winning the first two of the trip the Z's finished the roadtrip 3-4. New Orleans will play 13 of the next 16 games at home.

Coming Up: The Zephyrs and Memphis meet open a four game series at Zephyr Field Saturday night. New Orleans will start LH Willie Collazo (6-2, 4.39) against RH Adam Ottavino (0-9, 5.54). The gametime was originally a 6 PM start has been changed to a 7PM start. TV: CST #37 and Radio: WIST 690 AM
