Reno Aces News Release

RENO, Nev. - On Saturday night, one of the most-anticipated promotions to hit Reno will take place at Aces Ballpark, as the Reno Aces present their inaugural Mayor Bobblehead Showdown.

For Saturday's game against the Tacoma Rainiers, 2,500 bobbleheads will be distributed at the gates. Of the 2,500 bobbleheads, 1,250 bear the likeness of Reno Mayor Bob Cashell. The remaining 1,250 bobbleheads bear the likeness of Sparks Mayor Geno Martini.

At the turnstiles, fans will have the chance to select which mayor's bobblehead they would like to take home. The mayor's bobblehead that runs out first will be declared the winner.

The upcoming showdown has been preceded by a bit of good-natured trash talk between the two local politicians.

"My head is far more attractive as a bobblehead than Mayor Bob; I even wiggle better," said Sparks Mayor Geno Martini. "Cashell needs to get a mitt and get in the game! While I expect to prevail in the showdown, I am looking forward to the results with my good friend, the Mayor of Reno."

Martini's bobblehead depicts the Sparks mayor in a white Aces jersey, while Cashell's bobblehead dons a grey Aces jersey.

"Geno Martini, you probably do look better as a bobblehead than me," said Reno Mayor Bob Cashell. "But I would seriously suggest you get busy growing some more hair. Everyone knows I can out-wiggle you anytime. While I expect to prevail in the showdown, I, too, am looking forward to the results with my good friend, the Mayor of Sparks."

Saturday's game is the first of an action-packed four-game homestand at Aces Ballpark. An appearance by the ZOOperstars!, Singles Night and Social Networking Night are still on-deck.

First pitch on Saturday is set for 7:05 p.m. PT. Gates open at 6:05 p.m. PT.
