The Calgary Stampeders selected a total of seven players in today's CFL Canadian Draft.

After choosing an NCAA offensive lineman with their first selection, the Stamps made six consecutive picks from CIS schools to close out the draft. Calgary drafted three offensive linemen, two receivers, one defensive lineman and one punter.

Here is a closer look at the Stamps' selections:

Brander Craighead, OL, Texas-El Paso (first round, seventh overall): The six-foot-six, 280-lb. product from the Ottawa area has played three seasons at UTEP, starting a dozen games at tackle in each of the 2011 and 2012 seasons. He is expected to return to UTEP for his senior season this fall.

Ben D'Aguilar, DL, McMaster (second round, 13th overall): The Hamilton product won the J.P. Metras Trophy in 2012 as the top lineman in Canadian University football and was an all-Canadian. He set a CIS record last season by recording 12.5 sacks. The six-foot-two, 240-lb. lineman is a product of Hamilton.

Brett Jones, OL, Regina (second round, 16th overall): The six-foot-three, 305-lb. Jones was a finalist for the 2012 J.P. Metras Trophy, which goes to the top lineman in CIS. He was a first-team Canada West and CIS all-star and was Regina's male athlete of the year. In 2011, he was named Canada West's top student-athlete and is a two-time member of the Canadian all-academic team.

Yannick Morin-Plante, REC, Laval (third round, 25th overall): The Laval receiver posted the third-fastest time at CFL combine, clocking in at 4.534 seconds. Morin-Plante had 17 catches for the Rouge et Or in 2012 for 150 yards and one touchdown and was part of Laval's Vanier Cup championship team.

Charlie Power, REC, Saskatchewan (fourth round, 28th overall): After playing on the defensive side of the ball as a linebacker, the Okotoks product switched to offence in 2012 and saw action as a hybrid slotback/fullback. He made 18 catches for 231 yards and two touchdowns for the Huskies last year. In his two previous seasons on defence, he accumulated 25 tackles, one fumble recovery and two pass breakups. Powers attended Okotoks' Holy Trinity Academy and was the school's defensive player of the year on three occasions.

Shane Bergman, OL, Western (sixth round, 48th overall): One of the biggest picks in the draft, Bergman stands six-foot-seven and weighs 352 lbs. He was part of a Western offensive unit that led the country with 289.1 rushing yards per game in 2012 and allowed Garret Sanvido to rush for a CIS-best 1,001 yards. The Mustangs were third in total offence with 40.9 points and 535.1 yards per contest.

Dumitru Ionita, P, Concordia (seventh round, 59th overall): The Woodstock, Ont., native led the country in punting in 2010 with an average of 42.5 yards per kick. In 2012, he played for the Twin Cities Predators (based in Waterloo, Ont.) of the Canadian Junior Football League.
