Bridgewater, NJ- The Bridgeport Bluefish defeated the Somerset Patriots 5-1 in front of 7,789 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Saturday night.
Bridgeport scored first in the top of the fourth inning after Brock Peterson (14) drove a solo homerun over the left field wall.
A sacrifice fly to left in the sixth by Jeff Nettles evened the score at one for the Patriots heading into the seventh inning.
The Bluefish regained the lead on a two run double by Eddie Rogers to give them a 3-1 advantage in the seventh.
Bridgeport added a run in the eighth and the ninth on an RBI single by Peterson and an RBI double by Rogers to increase their lead to 5-1.
Bridgeport starter Jonah Bayliss (2-4) got the win after allowing only a run in seven innings of work. Patriots starter Doug Arguello (3-3) suffered the loss, surrendering three runs on four hits in seven innings pitched.
