Long Island Ducks News Release
(Central Islip, N.Y., June 30, 2012) - The Long Island Ducks will kick off their annual patriotic jersey (photo above) auction at Bethpage Ballpark on Wednesday, July 4 when the Ducks host the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. Fans can bid on the game-worn jerseys of their favorite Ducks players, which will be showcased by the Ducks on July 4 as well as August 4, which will be "Military Appreciation Night" at the ballpark, presented by Northrop Grumman.
"This is a terrific opportunity for fans to own their favorite player's jersey while also giving an assist to the community," says Ducks Merchandise and Client Services Manager Jason Randall. "We are able to raise money for the QuackerJack Foundation, while our fans walk away with one-of-a-kind Ducks memorabilia."
Bids will start at $75 and be raised in minimum $10 increments. Fans interested in bidding can do so beginning July 4 by visiting the auction tables located on the concourse outside the Waddle In Shop. Bids will also be accepted over the phone by calling the Waddle In Shop at (631) 940-3825 extension 126. Fans will be able to track the highest bids on the jerseys by visiting www.liducks.com . The auction will end at the seventh inning stretch of the August 4 game against the Bridgeport Bluefish, so get your bids in early!
Proceeds from the auction will benefit the QuackerJack Foundation, the charitable arm of the Long Island Ducks. All donations are tax deductible. The QuackerJack Foundation has contributed to thousands of non-profit and like organizations each year while bringing awareness to worthy programs and causes in need of assistance on Long Island.
The Long Island Ducks are members of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball and play their home games at Bethpage Ballpark. For further information, call (631) 940-DUCK or visit www.liducks.com.
