
Drive Strive to "Let's Hit 350" After Record-Setting Weekend

Greenville, SC - With picturesque weather in Downtown Greenville this past weekend, fans came in droves to Fluor Field, as the Greenville Drive hosted their cross-state rivals, the Charleston RiverDogs. During the four-game stretch from Thursday through Sunday, 23,940 fans passed through the turnstiles which was the third largest total in Fluor Field's history.
Drive Co-Owner and Team President, Craig Brown, commented on the record breaking weekend, saying, "The support of Greenville Drive baseball and the Fluor Field experience across the Upstate has been tremendous and we are very grateful for the continuing support of our loyal fans as we strive to hit a record attendance year of 350,000."
"We continue to work very hard to provide a top notch fan experience that is both family friend and value oriented," added Brown. "There is no doubt that in our seventh season in Downtown Greenville, that fans continue to enjoy all that Fluor Field has to offer which played a major factor in our weekend success. With the school year recently drawing to a close, we are excited about the Summer that lies ahead and have our sights set on setting an all-time record attendance at Fluor Field."
Fluor Field saw crowds in excess of 6,000 fans in each of the first three games of the series, which was the third time that feat was accomplished. Through the first 38 home games at Fluor Field this season, the Drive are averaging 4,937 fans per game.
"This past weekend was one of the most attended series' at Fluor Field, and adds momentum of reaching our goal to 'Let's Hit 350' during the 2012 season," added Drive General Manager Mike deMaine. "There are a number of exciting games remaining on the Drive's schedule between now and Labor Day, including Greenville Hospital System's 100th Anniversary Celebration, Green Day, Spartanburg Day, USO Day, and others that with the continuing support of the Community and our partners we are hopeful to have a record-setting year!"
The Drive return home to Fluor Field on Wednesday, July 4th with first pitch set for 6:05 PM. Fluor Field is a premier location to witness the City of Greenville's fireworks following the game, and the ballpark will remain open to fans to watch this great display.
