Rome Emperors News Release
Rome, GA - The Rome Braves fell to the Greenville Drive 6-1 Wednesday night at State Mutual Stadium in front of 1,270 fans. This is only the second loss for the Braves after the All Star break.
Greenville's first run crossed the plate in the third inning when Keury De La Cruz singled up the middle. After a wild pitch and a passed ball, De La Cruz scored on a single by Blake Swihart. Their next run would be plated in the fifth after Garin Cecchini singles, Boss Moanaroa walks and both successfully execute the double steal. Henry Ramos then singled to drive in Cecchini.
In the bottom of the frame, the Braves finally got on the board when Will Skinner doubled and Brandon Drury drove him in with a single. The Drive's Henry Ramos (5) would add another run in the seventh when he hit a solo homer off of the Braves reliever Fabian Williamson. Greenville added three insurance runs in the ninth for the 6-1 final.
Jarrett Miller (4-2) went four innings allowing two runs on nine hits while striking out five and getting credited with the loss. Jason Garcia (3-4) pitched six innings only allowing one run on five hits.
The Braves host the Greenville Drive again tomorrow in game four of this series at State Mutual Stadium at 1pm. For ticket information, contact the Rome Braves at 706-378-5144 or log onto www.romebraves.com.
