TinCaps Announce Roster Moves

The Fort Wayne TinCaps, in conjunction with the San Diego Padres, announced the following roster moves today:

RHP Yordany Ramirez released. The 27-year-old Ramirez had gone 1-0 with a 4.09 ERA in six relief appearances. In his most recent outing, he tossed two scoreless innings on Wednesday against Great Lakes. In 11 total innings, the righthnder struck out five, walked four, allowed five earned runs an 11 hits.

OF Mykal Stokes transferred from extended spring training to Fort Wayne. Stokes, 21, was selected in the 29th round of the 2010 draft by San Diego. The Tustin, California native played in 48 games with the Arizona League Padres in 2010, hitting .230 with one home run and 18 runs batted in. Last year he bounced around the system, playing 37 games with Eugene of the Northwest League, five games with Fort Wayne, 12 games with Advanced-A Lake Elsinore of the California League and five games with Triple-A Tucson. Collectively he hit .233 with two home runs and 40 runs batted in. Stokes will wear #17.

The TinCaps roster currently stands at the Midwest League limit of 25 players.
