
Sound Tigers Release Riopel and Haddad from PTO's

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Jan. 17, 2012) - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today they have released goaltender Nic Riopel and forward Joey Haddad from their professional tryout contracts (PTO).
Riopel, 22, joined the Sound Tigers on Dec. 30 on the road in Norfolk. The Beloeil, PQ native served as a backup to both Kevin Poulin and Anders Nilsson and did not appear in any games with the Sound Tigers. Riopel returns to the Greenville Road Warriors of the ECHL where he shows an 11-4-1 record this season with a 2.92 goals against average and a .911 save percentage.
Haddad, 23, appeared in eight games with the Sound Tigers and did not record a point. The Sydney, NS native returns to the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL where he's posted 11 goals and 11 assists in 26 games this season.
