Amerks to Welcome 100,000th Fan of the Season on Thursday
January 17, 2012 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rochester Americans News Release
(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans will host the Oklahoma City Barons at The Blue Cross Arena on Thursday, at 7:05 p.m. and the Amerks will welcome their 100,000th fan of the 2011-12 season prior to the game.
The team has averaged 5,441 fans for a total of 97,933 through the first 18 home games of the season, representing an increase of more than 55 percent over last season through the same number of games. As a show of appreciation for the tremendous fan support, the Amerks will honor fan No. 100,000 on Thursday with an autographed team jersey and stick, while the fan will also get to enjoy the game in a suite.
On Friday, the Amerks will host Oklahoma City for the second consecutive night, this time at 7:35 p.m. The pre-game festivities start off with another Amerks Happy Hour from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Upper Atrium Bar, where fans ages 21 and over can enjoy Molson and Coors Light drafts for just $2. In addition, college students with a valid school ID can purchase a ticket at the Box Office for just $10.
The back-to-back games between the Amerks and Barons this week will mark the second time this season the teams will have faced off on consecutive nights. Back on Dec. 27 and 28, the teams met for a pair of games in Oklahoma City, where the Amerks came away with a two-game sweep over the AHL's then first-place team. Rochester entered play this week with the fifth-best home record in the AHL at 11-5-1-1.
