
Sea Dogs Return Home for Fun Filled Four Game Series

Portland, Maine - The Portland Sea Dogs, Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, return to Hadlock Field on Thursday, July 28th for a four game series against the Altoona Curve, the Doulbe-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, filled with fun entertainment for fans (and pets) of all ages.
The action gets started on Thursday, July 28th with Bark in the Park, made possible by Planet Dog, benefits the Portland Police Canine Unit. Bring your dog to the game and spend the night with the whole family. Slugger, the Sea Dog, will lead people and their dogs in a pre-game parade around the warning track of Hadlock Field. Dogs and their owners will get to hangout in a special area down the left field line. Tickets are $7.00 for humans and $7.00 for each dog. Tickets for you and your dog must be purchased ahead of time by calling Planet Dog at 207-347-8606. The canine fun continues as Mike Piaza and his dogs entertain the crowd in between innings with their high-flying dog tricks.
On Saturday, July 30th come down to Hadlock Field from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM and enjoy a picnic style meal at the ballpark and meet the 2011 Portland Sea Dogs. The third annual "Picnic in the Park "event will serve hamburgers, hot dogs, BBQ Chicken Sandwiches, fountain soda, Sea Dog biscuits, and more. Bring a camera, take pictures, and collect autographs from the Sea Dogs players. Tickets are $15.00 and can be purchased by calling the Sea Dogs Ticket Office at 207-879-9500 or online at www.seadogs.com.
On Sunday, July 31st the Sea Dogs will open up Hadlock Field early to let fans play catch on the field prior to the final game of the series against the Curve. Fans who have tickets to the Sunday, July 31st game are encouraged to come down with their families and play catch. Catch on the Field begins at 10:00 AM and will end at 11:15. The first 500 children to play catch will receive a Sea Dogs logo baseball courtesty of Mercy Hospital.
