TODAY: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Erie SeaWolves will meet in the finale of a three-game series...The Erie SeaWolves scored 14 unanswered runs, erasing a 3-0 Flying Squirrels lead after 3 1/2 innings en route to a 14-3 win on Tuesday night in front of 5,166 fans at Jerry Uht Park.

BURNING RUBBER: The Flying Squirrels enter today's rubber match with the Erie SeaWolves 8-4 in series-deciding games...The club is 15-15 in series finales...Richmond is 9-10 in day games after night games and is 10-11 overall in day games.
ONE-SIDED: The Flying Squirrels' 14-3 loss last night in Erie was the most one-sided defeat in franchise history...The club lost by 10 runs twice last season and entering last night's game, Richmond's worst loss this season had been eight runs in a 12-4 loss 6/19 against Bowie...The 14 runs and 19 hits allowed by the Flying Squirrels last night were both season-highs...It was the fourth time this season that the team has allowed 10-plus runs in a game.
WILD, WILD WES: First baseman Wes Hodges went 2-for-4 last night with a pair of singles...The 26-year-old is batting .354 (23-for-65) in 16 games on the road...All six of his home runs have been hit on the road and 13 of his 22 RBIs have come on the road...He is hitting .229 (61-for-70) with six doubles and a triple in 22 games at The Diamond...Over his last 12 games, Hodges is batting .386 (17-for-44) with three doubles, three home runs, eight RBIs, and eight runs scored.
THE INSIDE SCHOOP: Since shortstop Nick Noonan was promoted to Triple-A Fresno 7/18, infielder Sharlon Schoop is 12-for-31 (.387) at the plate including a season-high three hits 7/19 as well as two home runs, seven RBIs, and seven runs scored.
SAN FRANCISCO: Outfielder Francisco Peguero has hits in six straight games, his fourth hit streak of five games or more since joining the Flying Squirrels from Advanced-A San Jose 6/23...Over his last six games, the 23-year-old is batting .333 (7-for-21) with two doubles, two RBIs, and a run scored.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN: The Flying Squirrels are in the middle of a stretch where they are playing 14 of 20 games on the road...Overall, the club is 19-29 on the road, and is batting .219 and averaging 3.44 runs per game (165R/48G) in 48 road contests...The club is 37-18 overall at home - the second-best home record in the league - and is batting .263 in 55 games at The Diamond while averaging 4.56 runs per game at home (251R/55G).
PITCHING IN: The Flying Squirrels pitching staff leads the Eastern League with a 3.28 ERA through 103 games and has allowed a league-low 386 runs, the only club to have allowed fewer that 400 runs...Richmond's pitching staff has allowed two runs or less in 40 of its 103 games (39%)...Starting pitching has allowed three runs or less in 73 of the team's 103 games (71%) and the club is 50-23 in those contests.
