New Britain Rock Cats News Release

New Britain, CT - After the day portion of today's Day/Night Doubleheader at New Britain Stadium, the Rock Cats of the Eastern League announced two player moves involving Pitchers.

RHP David Bromberg, a 23-year-old resident of Los Angeles, CA who the Minnesota Twins selected in the 32nd Round of the 2005 Draft, has rejoined the Rock Cats after having been disabled with a broken bone in his right forearm. The 6'5"/240-pound hurler was struck on his pitching arm by a line drive on April 26th while working on the mound for the Rock Cats in Manchester, NH. He had surgery in Minnesota shortly thereafter and has been rehabbing since. Bromberg made three mound appearances (0-0, 9.00) for Ft. Myers in the last ten days and has been deemed ready to return to the Double-A Eastern League. Prior to his injury, the 2010 Eastern League All-Star and 2009 Florida State League Pitcher of the Year had made four appearances for the 2011 Rock Cats, posting a 1-1 /3.63 mark. He will wear #39.

LHP Andrew Albers, a 25-year-old relief specialist from Saskatchewan, Canada, has been assigned to Ft. Myers in the Florida State League. The 6'1"/195-pound hurler was 2-0 with New Britain this season after having been signed by Minnesota as Free Agent in late 2010. The southpaw made five appearances in New Britain this year and departs with a 3.52 ERA.
