EASTLAKE, OH -Lance Durham and Michael Crouse led a Lansing Lugnuts (10-7, 48-36) offensive onslaught in a businesslike 7-1 triumph over the Lake County Captains (6-11, 34-52) at Classic Park on Sunday night.

Durham drove in two runs with a double in the second inning off Lake County starter Mike Rayl (Loss, 5-3) that opened the scoring, and the Lugnuts would never let go of the lead. They would add single runs in the next three innings off Rayl, with RBI base hits from Jake Marisnick, Oliver Dominguez, and K.C. Hobson.

Lugnuts starter Egan Smith (Win, 4-3) tossed five innings and allowed seven hits but just one run. That run came on the RBI single by Kevin Fontanez that drove home Jesus Aguilar, but the Lugs combination of Tyler Powell and Danny Barnes shut down the Captains offense for the final four innings.

Carlos Perez, Crouse, Hobson, and Durham each posted 2-for-4 nights to lead the Lugs' balanced attack.

The Lugnuts will send righty Casey Lawrence (6-8, 3.92) to the mound in the finale of the series to go for the sweep against Captains lefty J.D. Reichenbach (4-1, 1.90).

Lansing will be back in action at Cooley Law School Stadium on Wednesday, July 20, at 12:05 p.m., taking on the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on a Summer Fun Day. Tickets are available for purchase online at www.lansinglugnuts.com, at the stadium box office, and by calling 517-485-4500.
