
Rein's Contract Purchased by St. Louis Cardinals

Avon, Oh- Left-handed pitcher Matt Rein has had his contract purchased by the St. Louis Cardinals after only having a short stretch with the Lake Erie Crushers. Rein arrived in Avon, Ohio after having a successful college career at Coastal Carolina University over the past four years.
Houston, Texas native, Rein played four seasons with the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. In the 2011 season, Rein had a 2.07 ERA, along with a winning record of 9-2. In 74 innings pitched, he recorded 44 strikeouts.
"This is another milestone reached for the Crusher's organization. Our hope is that each of the players who play for this organization will have the opportunity to move onto the next level. It's an exciting thing for Matt Rein to reach his goal," said Owner Steve Edelson.
"We are extremely excited for Matt and it is great to team up two championship organizations with the Crushers and the Cardinals," said VP of Business Operations Daniel Helm.
