Warehouse Theatre, Drive Partner on "Something More Than a Game"

Greenville, SC - Two community-minded organizations, both located in Downtown Greenville's Historic West End have come together to bring baseball and entertainment fans together with a unique experience. The Warehouse Theatre and the Greenville Drive announced today a partnership on a new production titled, "Something More Than a Game."

Directed by Chip Egan, "Something More Than A Game" is the story about a father, his daughters and a box full of evidence that may or may not prove or disprove, once and for all, the guilt, innocence or unwitting participation of Greenville native "Shoeless" Joe Jackson in the 1919 World Series scandal, known as the Chicago "Black Sox."

"The Drive has been a great asset ensuring that baseball thrives in the Upstate community, especially in the Historic West End of Downtown Greenville," noted Paul Savas, Executive and Artistic Director of the Warehouse Theatre. "We are proud to partner with Craig Brown, Mike deMaine and the entire Drive organization to bring this exciting show about Greenville's-own "Shoeless" Joe Jackson to the Warehouse Theatre."

Opening Night for "Something More Than A Game" is Friday, May 27th at the Warehouse Theater with curtain set to drop at 8 PM. Tickets are $25 for adults, $24 for seniors (65 and older), and $15 for students and children. Additional showings of "Something More Than A Game" are set for May 28th and 29th, June 2nd-5th, and June 9th-11th. During the Drive's upcoming homestand, that spans Wednesday, May 27th through Tuesday, May 31st, fans attending Fluor Field will have the opportunity to win complementary tickets to "Something More Than A Game."

Drive Co-Owner and President, Craig Brown, commented on the partnership, saying, "We are excited about the partnership that we have entered into with the Warehouse Theatre to bring the game of baseball in a unique manner to entertainment enthusiasts across the Upstate. This is a prime example of two organizations in the West End working hand-in-hand on a very intriguing project that brings our two uniquely defined customers together."

Additionally, fans that attend showings of "Something More Than A Game" at the Warehouse Theatre will receive a voucher for two complimentary tickets to a remaining 2011 Drive regular season game, with the opportunity to win a night for 24 in one of Fluor Field's luxury suites.

Drive General Manager, Mike deMaine, added, ""Something More Than A Game" is an opportunity for the Drive to partner with the Warehouse Theatre on a show about baseball, and what it means to Greenville.
