Portland Sea Dogs News Release
Portland, Maine- Stephen Fife tossed six solid innings to lead the sixth place Portland Sea Dogs (13-27) to a 7-3 win over the first place New Hampshire Fisher Cats (27-16) Monday night at Hadlock Field. The win kicked-off the Sea Dogs' longest homestand of the season and snapped a four game slide.
Fife (5-2) earned his team leading fifth win of the season holding the Fisher Cats to two runs (one earned) on six hits over six innings of work. He did not walk a batter and struck out a season high six Fisher Cats as he earned his third consecutive win and lowered his ERA to 2.41. Fife, a 2010 Eastern League All-Star with the Sea Dogs, shutout New Hampshire for the first four innings before the Fisher Cats were able to scratch across a run with a RBI double by Anthony Gose in the fifth. Craig Stansberry added a RBI double in the sixth to complete the scoring off of Fife.
The Portland offense gave Fife plenty of support scoring seven runs on 12 hits. All nine Portland starters collected at least one hit.
The Sea Dogs jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the first when Tim Federowicz clubbed his tenth double of the season scoring Chih-Hsien Chiang.

The Sea Dogs added two runs in the fifth inning with back-to-back RBI doubles by Jeremy Hazelbaker and Alex Hassan. It was Hassan's team leading 14th double and 26th RBI.
