The Augusta GreenJackets rallied for four runs in the eighth inning and one in the ninth as they wiped out a 4-0 Lexington lead and beat the Legends 5-4 Tuesday night in Augusta.   The Augusta comeback came after a brilliant pitching effort by Legends starter Jose Cisnero, who faced the minimum 21 hitters over the first seven innings.  Cisnero allowed only an infield single by Hector Sanchez with one out in the sixth inning.  The next batter, Ydwin Villegas, hit into a double play.  Cisnero struck out four and did not walk a batter.

The Legends scored all their runs in the top of the first inning.  With one out, consecutive singles by Jiovanni Mier, Jimmy Paredes and Jake Goebbert gave Lexington a 1-0 lead and put runners at first and third.  Hinze followed with his 16th home run of the year, a 420-foot drive well over the wall in left center field.  The three runs batted in brought Hinze's total for the year to 87, tying him with Augusta's Chris Dominguez for the South Atlantic League lead.

The 4-0 lead stood up until the eighth.  Yordany Ramirez, who had played at the triple-A level  as an outfielder but is converting to pitching, relieved Cisnero at the start of the eighth inning.  In his second appearance on the mound, Ramirez gave up a single to Ryan Cavan to lead off the eighth.  Cavan stole second, and continued to third when catcher Ben Heath's throw went into center field for an error.  Ramirez struck out Tommy Joseph, but Luke Anders singled to center to score Cavan with Augusta's first run.

After Skyler Stromsmoe walked, Wander Alvino relieved Ramirez.  Alex Burg singled to load the bases, but Villegas grounded to third baseman Jonathan Meyer, who threw home for a force play for the second out.  The next batter, Nick Liles, lined a 3-2 pitch down the left field line for a double, clearing the bases and tying the game at 4-4.

The GreenJackets won it in the bottom of the ninth.   Dominguez led off and was hit by a pitch.  Cavan sacrificed Dominguez to second, and Joseph was intentionally walked.  Colton Pitkin relieved Alvino, and Anders drew a walk to load the bases.  Stromsmoe then hit a pop fly behind first base into short right field.  Lexington second baseman Paredes made the catch, and Dominguez, tagging up from third, beat the throw home to score the winning run.

Jeremy Toole (5-5), pitched the last three innings for Augusta and got the win.  Alvino (5-4) took the loss.  The Legends won three out of four in the series, and will continue their road trip with a four-game series in Kannapolis beginning Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m.
