TONIGHT: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and the Bowie Baysox will meet in the finale of a three-game series...The Flying Squirrels jumped out to a 6-0 lead through 4 1/2 innings and held on to edge the Baysox 7-6 in game two of the series on Saturday night at Prince George's Stadium.
TONIGHT'S STARTERS: Right-hander Felix Romero gets the start in the series finale for the Flying Squirrels...Worked 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief in his last outing at New Britain 8/17...Allowed two hits while striking out three batters and walking none...Suffered the loss in his last start at New Hampshire 8/4...Allowed three runs on five hits in 1 2/3 innings...Struck out none and walked one batter...Two of the three runs he allowed came with two outs...Threw 44 pitches, 29 strikes...Threw 27 pitches in 2/3 of an inning in the second frame...Left the game due to shoulder fatigue...Went 10 games between appearances but was not placed on the Disabled List...Six of his 10 starts have been quality starts...Has gone six innings or more in seven of his 10 starts...Has allowed just one run in five of his 10 starts...Is 3-2 with a 3.10 ERA (20ER/58.0 IP) in 10 starts with Richmond...Is 0-0 with a 6.75 ERA in three appearances, including one start, against Bowie...Has allowed seven runs on 10 hits in 9 1/3 innings, striking out seven batters and walking two.

BURNING RUBBER: The Flying Squirrels seek a series-clinching win in tonight's rubber match with the Baysox...Richmond is 5-6 in rubber matches; however, the club has won each of its last three series-deciding contests...The Flying Squirrels are 16-19 in series finales.
SAVED: Right-hander Rafael Cova recorded his Eastern League-leading 21st save in his 26th attempt in last night's 7-6 win over Bowie...Since giving up two runs and blowing his fifth save opportunity in the top of the ninth inning against New Hampshire 8/11, the 28-year-old has tossed 5 1/3 consecutive scoreless innings, allowing two hits while striking out seven batters and walking one...Opponents are batting .148 (25-for-169) against him this season.
THOMAS THE TRAIN: Outfielder Thomas Neal has hits in each of his last five games, his team-leading 10th hit streak of five games or more...The 23-year-old is 6-for-18 (.333) with three doubles, a home run, four RBI, and five runs scored...Nine of Neal's total 11 home runs have come on the road...He ranks third in the Eastern League in hits (138) and in doubles (36)...Since 6/1, Neal is batting .316 (86-for-272) in 71 games with 25 doubles, eight home runs, 39 RBI, and 47 runs scored...He has raised his batting average from .255 to .293 over that span.
THE WEATHER MAN: Third baseman Conor Gillaspie has hits in each of his last five contests, his sixth hit streak of five games or more which is second-most on the club...The 23-year-old is 8-for-21 (.381) over his last five games with four doubles, one RBI, and two runs scored... Since 7/1, he is batting .364 (56-for-154) with 12 doubles, three triples, two home runs, 22 RBI, and 19 runs scored...Gillaspie has raised his batting average from .254 to .293 since 7/1.
ATTA BOY-ER: Infielder Brad Boyer is 4-for-7 (.571) with four RBI with runners in scoring position over his last seven games...The 26-year-old was 5-for-27 (.185) with 10 RBI with runners in scoring position over his first 24 games with Richmond...Overall he is 7-for-21 (.333) over his last seven contests with a double, four RBI, and four runs scored.
UNBUCKLING THE BELT: In 119 games combined between Advanced-A San Jose and Double-A Richmond, first baseman Brandon Belt ranks second all of minor league baseball in batting average (.359), is second in on-base percentage (.458), is fourth in RBI (100), and is fourth in slugging percentage (.622)...The 22-year-old is batting .447 (21-for-47) with runners in scoring position in 42 games with the Flying Squirrels and is hitting .403 (54-for-134) overall with runners in scoring position this season.
DOUBLETREE DOWNTOWN DOUBLE PLAYS: The Richmond Flying Squirrels have turned 152 double plays in 124 games including six on 5/7 in Harrisburg...The Flying Squirrels have not gone more than three games without a double play this season...The club leads the Eastern League in double plays turned.
CFS STAT OF THE NIGHT: Richmond improved to 13-2 when scoring seven or more runs...The club also won for just the second time in 35 games when allowing six runs or more (2-33).
