New Hampshire (72-54) chipped away in the bottom of the first with two runs on three doubles. Darin Mastroianni (2 for 4) laced a two-bagger down the left field line to start the rally, Thames (2 for 3) then found the left-center field gap to bring Mastroianni home. After a fielder's choice, Adam Calderone reached the wall scoring Bowman to get the Fisher Cats within a run at 3-2.

Everts settled down retiring 11 of 12 batters at one point before loading the bases with one out in the fifth. Uviedo was then called upon and got the Fisher Cats out of the jam by striking his first batter and inducing a 6-4 putout.

New Hampshire regained the lead in the bottom of the fifth, highlighted by Bowman's 22nd blast of the season. The comeback started on back-to-back walks to Jonathan Diaz and Mastroianni. Thames then added to his EL lead in RBI when he legged out a two-run triple for his 93rd and 94th of the year, followed by Bowman's (2 for 4) home run to hand the Fisher Cats the 6-3 advantage.
