COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - Eric Young Jr., who is recovering from a fractured right leg, will begin a Major League rehab assignment this evening with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. Young is in the starting lineup batting leadoff and playing second base.

Young started the season with the Sky Sox but was quickly called up by the Rockies on April 25th. In 13 games with the Rockies, Young hit .250 (8-for-32) with a triple, a double and three RBI. He also stole four bases in five tries before being sidelined on May 15th with a stress fracture in his lower right leg.

In 2009, Young set the Sky Sox single-season franchise record for stolen bases with 58 and led the entire minor leagues with 118 runs scored at the time of his call-up to the Rockies at the end of the season. He is the son of former Major League and Rockies star Eric Young.

The Sky Sox begin a four-game home stand tonight against the Sacramento River Cats, the Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland A's. Tonight's game starts at 7:05 PM.
