Greenville Drive News Release
The Greenville Drive invites the entire community to participate in its second annual "Greenville Pitches In" promotion to benefit the Children's Hospital of Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center.
The 13-hour event kicks off at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29th and will last until that evening's 7:05 p.m. game against the Savannah Sand Gnats at Greenville's Fluor Field at the West End. Each participant is invited to throw a "first pitch" on the field - and then join in the daylong celebration with the team, local celebrities and other Drive fans who are committed to kids and their Community.
Young, old, baseball aficionado or casual fan - everyone can join Drive players and local celebrities during the marathon of first pitches by purchasing a ticket for the June 29th game. One dollar from each ticket sold will benefit the Children's Hospital and its efforts to provide outstanding medical care for every child; the Drive's goal is to raise $5,000 for the hospital, so each" Pitch In" participant will be contributing to a very significant and meaningful cause. Pitch in participants can linger at Fluor Field and take in all of the day's festivities after throwing their ceremonial first pitch from the mound at Fluor Field.
There will be no shortage of excitement from 6:00 a.m. onward at Fluor Field for those attending the Pitch In. After firing the ball over home plate, participants can enjoy Chick-Fil-A concessions for lunch, browse new merchandise offerings, obtain player autographs, and enjoy bounce houses for the kids throughout the day. The Pitch In will have something for every Drive fan and community member to enjoy; the purchase of a ticket allows participants a pass to the park all day long, including reentry for the evening game.
"We are excited to host our second annual "Greenville Pitches In" promotion this coming Tuesday," said Drive General Manager Mike deMaine. "The day will be an exciting, fun-filled testament to Greenville's giving spirit and our collective commitment to our community. We invite everyone to join the team and help us âpitch in' for the GHS Children's Hospital!"
Seats are still available for the Drive's June 29th game against the Savannah Sand Gnats, which kicks off a five-game home stand. Tickets start at just $5. For more information, visit www.greenvilledrive.com.
