Portland, Maine- The Portland Sea Dogs' 2010 home opener is set for Thursday, April 15th at 6:00 PM against the Trenton Thunder (Yankees) at Hadlock Field. The 2010 season is the Sea Dogs' 17 season and eighth as the Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. The Sea Dogs first homestand runs from April 15th through April 21st where the Sea Dogs will welcome the Trenton Thunder (Yankees) for four games and the Binghamton Mets (Mets) for three games. The Sea Dogs have plenty of fun planned for the opening series.

Trenton Thunder (Yankees) @ Portland Sea Dogs (Red Sox)

Promotions: 2010 Home Opener. The Bellamy Jazz Band will be playing on the front plaza. Maine native and former New York Yankees Manager Stump Merrill will throw out the ceremonial first-pitch. The National Anthem will be performed by Jonathan Edwards, best know for his 1971 hit "Sunshine". Gates will open at 4:00 PM; pre-game festivities are slated to get underway at 5:50 PM with the first-pitch set for 6:10 PM.

Friday, April 16th @ 6:00 PM

Trenton Thunder (Yankees) @ Portland Sea Dogs (Red Sox)

Promotions: Hometown Heroes, the Portland Sea Dogs will honor hometown heroes from throughout the state including various police officers and fire fighters in a pre-game ceremony. The Portland Fire Department will have a fire truck on display in front of the ballpark. Friday is also a NextGen College Investing Plan School night, Hood Kid's club night, and a Storyland Family Fun Friday.

Promotions: "Turn Up the Clock Day"- The Portland Sea Dogs will "Turn Up the Clock" on Sunday, April 18th as both teams; the Portland Sea Dogs (Red Sox) and Trenton Thunder (Yankees) will wear the uniform of their major league affiliate creating a glimpse at the future Sox/ Yankees rivalry for the players and fans. The two teams will also wear the major league jerseys when the Sea Dogs visit the Trenton Thunder later this month.
