ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...
Tonight, the SeaWolves look to avoid dropping to 0-7 as they wrap up a three-game series at NYSEG Stadium against the Binghamton Mets (New York Mets). Last night, the SeaWolves were shut out for the second time in six games as they stranded a season-high 10 on base. For the second consecutive night, Erie was limited to just three hits in the losing effort. Erie has failed to capitalize on the B-Mets league-worst 5.54 team ERA. The loss also continues Erie on its worst start in club history...Dating back to 2009, the SeaWolves have now lost 11 consecutive road games. Erie's last road win came in a doubleheader sweep of Harrisburg September 2, 2009...Erie's seven runs and 21 hits in six games is the fewest runs scored in the EL...Righty L.J. Gagnier takes the mound for the 'Wolves making his second start of the season and first against the Mets. Gagnier tossed five shutout innings in taking a no-decision in his first outing against Trenton on April 9. Gagnier took a loss against Binghamton in his only career appearance against the B-Mets in 2008...Righty Dylan Owen takes the mound for Binghamton and is coming off a win in his first start against Akron. Owen worked five shutout innings with three walks and six strikeouts in his first appearance. Owen made two starts against the SeaWolves in 2009. He was 1-1 with a 6.55 ERA in those two games, allowing eight runs on 14 hits in 11.0 innings of work with three walks and five strikeouts.

- Binghamton leads the season series over Erie 2-0. The SeaWolves and B-Mets meet 15 times in 2010. The 15 games against Binghamton is the most games Erie will play against an Eastern Division opponent. - Erie's roster fields just two Double-A rookies, INF Justin Henry and LHP Andy Oliver." Erie's hitting coach Glenn Adams is not with the team due to pre-season hip surgery. Tigers minor league roving catching instructor Andrew Graham will handle hitting coach duties until Adams is able to return. Graham played for Erie in 2006." The last time Erie finished the season with a winning road record was 2007 when the club went 38-34." Erie and New Britain are the only two remaining winless teams in the EL." Defensively, the 'Wolves have committed seven errors through six games which is tied for second-most errors in the EL. The 'Wolves have committed at least one error in each game this season." Erie's pitching staff ranks eighth in the league with a 3.56 team ERA. - Binghamton leads the league with a .307 team batting average.
