TONIGHT: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Altoona Curve will meet in the finale of a three-game series...The Curve broke through a scoreless tie in the bottom of the 14th inning on a two-out, RBI single from Josh Harrison and sent the Flying Squirrels to their four straight loss in a 1-0 final on Tuesday night at Blair County Ballpark.

TONIGHT'S STARTERS: Right-hander Clayton Tanner gets the start for the Flying Squirrels in the finale of the three-game series...Got the win after tossing 5 1/3 scoreless innings at Bowie...Victory was the first in Flying Squirrels history...Allowed just two hits while striking out two and walking one...Combined with Tony Pena Jr. and Rafael Cova on a two-hit shutout in seven innings...13 of the 16 outs recorded came on ground outs...Only two balls left the infield (Joel Guzman F9, Phillip Britton Double)...Has not had a professional at-bat.

Right-hander Jared Hughes gets the nod in game three of the series for the Curve...Earned the win in his first start of the year against Harrisburg...Tossed five innings and allowed just one run on five hits while striking out four and walking none...Only run allowed came on a Leonard Davis home run...Appeared in 17 games including seven starts with Altoona in 2009, bouncing back from an early season injury...Went 1-6 with a 3.88 ERA with 36 strike outs and 16 walks in 46 1/3 innings of work...Was 0-2 with a 7.00 ERA in 10 relief appearances...Was 1-4 with a 1.91 ERA in his seven starts...Counting 2010, has spent parts of the last three seasons with Altoona including making six starts in his first stint with the Curve in 2008...Selected by Pittsburgh in the fourth round of the 2006 First-Year Player Draft...Attended Cal State Long Beach.

GOING STREAKING: Brandon Crawford has opened the season with hits in each of the Flying Squirrels first five games...The 23-year-old is 6-for-17 (.353) to open the season with a double and four walks...The former fourth-round pick was a 2010 Non-Roster Invitee to Major League Spring Training...He appeared in 24 games and hit .214 with two doubles, a home run, and 3 RBI...The UCLA product entered the season rated as the #9 prospect in the Giants organization after hitting .258 with four home runs and 31 RBI with Double-A Connecticut last season.

CATCH OF THE DAY: Richmond catcher Jackson Williams has hits in each of his first five games this season...The 23-year-old is 7-for-16 (.438) at the plate with three doubles and two RBI...He leads the team in batting average and is tied with Thomas Neal for the team lead in extra base hits (minimum two games played)...Williams hit just .223 in 105 games with Connecticut last season and is a career .217 hitter in 244 professional games...The Oklahoma product has also thrown out 50% of would-be base stealers (3-for-6).

NO WHERE TO RUN: After being shutout for 14 innings last night, the Flying Squirrels have now gone 19 innings without scoring a run...Richmond last scored in the top of the fourth inning on Monday night...The club has only managed one run over its last 25 offensive innings.

HORSESHOES AND HAND GRENADES: All six games for the Flying Squirrels this season have been decided by three runs or less..A save has been recorded for the victorious team in each of the first five games...The average margin of victory/defeat is 2.0 runs (12R/6G)...Two of the first six games for Richmond have been decided by one run, both losses for the Flying Squirrels...Richmond has led for approximately 6 1/2 innings through the first six games.

STRANDED SQUIRRELS: The Richmond Flying Squirrels have stranded 55 runners on the bases over the first six games of the season...The club has left more runners on than any other team in the EL...The team is ninth in runs scored (12)...The Flying Squirrels have the second-lowest batting average with runners in scoring position through six games, hitting just .172 (4-for-58) in that situation...Only Erie (.063, 2-for-32) has fared worse...Richmond has just one hit with runners in scoring position and two outs as the club is 1-for-26 (.038) with 10 strikeouts in that situation...Erie is 0-for-13 with runners in scoring position and two outs.

TAKING FLIGHT: 2010 marks the inaugural season in Richmond Flying Squirrels history...After hosting the Atlanta Braves Triple-A affiliate for 43 years, the city of Richmond, Va., went without baseball in 2009...The move of the Connecticut Defenders to Richmond was announced September 22, 2009...The nickname "Flying Squirrels" was chosen from over 15,000 entries in a name-the-team contest and was announced October 14, 2009...The Flying Squirrels' logos and word marks were unveiled on December 1, 2009...Over $2 million in renovations have gone into the Flying Squirrels home - The Diamond - including 3,300 new seats in the lower seating bowl, renovated concession stands and clubhouses, a 2,800 square-foot merchandise store, the construction of an indoor batting tunnel, a new video board, new concourse sound system, and signage...The Flying Squirrels celebrate their home opener on Thursday April 15th, as the club hosts the Reading Phillies.
