MCALLEN, TEXAS - The NBA Development League Rio Grande Valley Vipers announced today that they have acquired guard Terrel Harris (6-5, 190, Oklahoma State).

Waived by the Maine Red Claws on March 19, Harris was averaging 6.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.2 steals while shooting 43% from the field in 15.9 minutes over the course of 22 games off the bench. Harris reached double-figures in scoring six times, including back-to-back games against the Vipers at State Farm Arena when he averaged 13.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals on February 20 and 21.

The 22-year old native of Garland opened the season with Strasbourg IG in France, averaging 6.8 points and 18 minutes in nine games before the EuroChallenge, when he averaged 6.0 points and 12.5 minutes in two games.

Harris played in four games for the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2009 NBA Summer League presented by EA Sports, averaging 2.0 points, 1.5 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 10.3 minutes. Harris scored all eight of his points while picking up two rebounds, two assists and three steals in 20 minutes in a loss to the Houston Rockets on July 16.

During his senior year of 2008-09 at Oklahoma State, Harris averaged a career-high 13.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.7 seals and 21.7 minutes in 35 games.

Harris is expected to be in uniform for Friday's 7:30 p.m. game against the Dakota Wizards at State Farm Arena.

To make room on the roster, the Vipers waived guard Quin Humphrey (6-4, 205, Youngstown State) due to injury. Humphrey has not dressed for the last two games due to a groin injury. Humphrey was averaging 3.0 points and 1.4 rebounds in seven games (one start) since rejoining the Vipers.
