Blues Return Ben Bishop

ST. LOUIS (January 7, 2010) - St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has assigned goaltender Ben Bishop to the Blues' American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.

Bishop, 23, was the backup goaltender to Chris Mason in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime loss Blues game in San Jose. The St. Louis native has played in 20 games for the Rivermen this season posting a 12-6-2 record including a 2.60 goals against average and a.906 save percentage. Last season, the 6-7, 210-pound netminder appeared in six games with the Blues collecting a 1-1-1 record, 2.93 goals against average and a.893 save percentage.

Rivermen General Manager Kevin McDonald announced today that the team has suspended defenseman Adrian Veideman.

Veideman, 26, had appeared in 14 games for the Rivermen and collected one assist. He was signed during the off-season as a free agent after spending last year as a member of the Iowa Chops.

Peoria will host the Toronto Marlies on Friday (7 p.m.) and the Milwaukee Admirals (3 p.m.) on Sunday. They will be on the road in Chicago on Saturday at 7 p.m.
