Medicine Hat Tigers News Release

Medicine Hat, AB - Medicine Hat Tigers announced this afternoon 18-year-old Cody Carlson has been dealt to the Regina Pats. In exchange, the Tigers will receive a third round pick in the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft.

"We had nine defenceman and it's tough to get everyone into the line up," said Tigers' general manager and head coach Willie Desjardins. "We had lots of interest in Cody from other teams as he is a good player. Making this move will allow us to get younger players into the line up which is something we want to do."

Carlson, from Victoria, BC, spent the past two seasons with the Tigers picking up a total of 30 points on 6 goals and 24 assists in 109 games.

"We thank Cody for his contribution to our organization and wish him all the best in his future endeavours," stated Desjardins.

The Tigers continue their current home stand tomorrow night when the Portland Winter Hawks visit The Arena for a 7:00 p.m. start. The game can be heard on CHAT 94.5 FM and www.tigershockey.com. You can watch the game via webcast at http://www.livestream.whl.ca
