Brandon, Manitoba -- The Western Hockey League's Brandon Wheat Kings have assigned 18-year old defenceman Stephane Robidoux to the Waywayseecappo Wolverines of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.

A 6' 180 lb. Haywood, Manitoba product, the former Pembina Valley Hawk blueliner appeared in two games this season, after playing in 35 games during the 2009-10 campaign.

A former eleventh round draft choice of the Wheat Kings, in the 2006 WHL Bantam Draft, Robidoux has three assists in 37 career games. During his final year with the AAA midget Hawks, he had six goals, 22 points and 58 penalty minutes in 38 regular season games.

Monday's announcement leaves Brandon with 25 players on its active roster, including seven defencemen. The Wheat Kings also have 16 forwards and two goalkeepers.

Brandon leaves Monday afternoon for its annual west coast road swing, which is scheduled to begin Wednesday night in Kennewick, Washington, against the Tri-City Americans. The Wheat Kings are currently 6-5-0-1 on the season and are coming off Saturday night's impressive 8-3 victory over the Kamloops Blazers.
