Sea Dogs to Host Bowl-A-Thon to Benefit the Maine Children's Cancer Program on August 24th

Portland, Maine- The Portland Sea Dogs, Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, have partnered with The Big 20 Bowling Center and 99.9 "The Wolf" to host a bowl-a-thon to benefit the Maine Children's Cancer Program. The bowl-a-thon will take place on Monday, August 24th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon at the Big 20 Bowling Center in Scarborough, Maine.

The registration fee for the bowl-a-thon is $25.00 per person and $100.00 for a team of five. Bowlers may register online at www.seadogs.com, www.999thewolf.com, www.big20bowling.com, or at www.mmc.org/mccp. For every $25.00 raised, in addition to the registration fee participants will receive a raffle ticket for a Nintendo Wii with the sport package which includes bowling.

The bowl-a-thon will take place in two shifts; one shift from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM and the second shift will take place from 10:30 AM to 11:45 AM. The bowl-a-thon is limited to 200 people, 100 people per shift with five bowlers to each one of the 20 lanes. Slugger and several Portland Sea Dogs' players will be on hand for the event. Dave and Michelle from The Wolf Morning Show will be present at the event.

The Maine Children's Cancer Program is the official charity of the Portland Sea Dogs. The Sea Dogs' Strike Out Cancer in Kids Program has raised over 3.5 million dollars in its 15 year history. The Maine Children's Cancer Program located in Scarborough, Maine helps children through their journey with cancer by providing high quality care and support for both children and their families.
