Cards with Nine All-Stars

The Springfield Cardinals will be sending nine players to the upcoming Texas League All-Star Game, to be held at Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, Texas, on Wednesday, July 1st.

Starting for the North Division will be Springfield outfielder Tyler Henley (.335, 4 HR, 30 RBIs), first baseman Mark Hamilton (.285, 7 HR, 20 RBIs) and second baseman Daniel Descalso (.323, 5 HR, 35 RBIs).

Springfield will have three reserve position players, as infielder Pete Kozma (.239, 2 HR, 17 RBIs), outfielder Daryl Jones (.307, 2 HR, 27 RBIs) and catcher Steven Hill (.253, 10 HR, 30 RBIs) will all come off the bench.

Three Redbird pitchers were also selected, as Lance Lynn (5-2, 3.86 ERA), Trey Hearne (5-1, 3.05 ERA) and reliever Francisco Samuel (3-2, 4.05 ERA, 15 saves) were nominated to the squad.

Springfield's nine representatives are tied with Midland for most in the entire league. The rest of the North Division squad will be made up of six Arkansas Travelers, six Tulsa Drillers and three Northwest Arkansas Naturals.

Texas League All-Stars are voted upon by Managers, Radio Broadcasters, as well as Newspaper Writers that cover the Texas League.
