ALL AWARDS YOUTH HOCKEY SHOOTOUT

The Sound Tigers and All Awards are teaming up to bring the fans one of the most exciting promotional nights this season, the Youth Hockey Shootout. On February 28, the Sound Tigers will take on the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at 7 p.m. and during both the first and second intermissions, the top youth hockey players from around the state will compete for the name of top shooter.

Sound Tigers' right winger, Pascal Morency takes us on a tour of his home. Morency shows the fans what he keeps in his fridge, introduces us to his dog and then shows us his car.

PENGUINS 3, SOUND TIGERS 0

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins net-minder John Curry turned aside all 35 shots the Sound Tigers fired on him to earn his second shutout of the season in the Penguins 3-0 win. Mark Letestu, Nick Johnson and Connor James had the three tallies for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. With the loss, the Sound Tigers record drops to 25-13-2-2, keeping them with 54 points. The Penguins draw within a point of the Sound Tigers for second place in the East Division with 53.

SOUND TIGERS 3, SENATORS 1

Nathan Lawson suffered his first regulation loss last night against the Hershey Bears but followed it up with a big effort tonight, stopping 29 of the 30 shots he faced against the Binghamton Senators, leading the Sound Tigers to a 3-1 win. Andrew MacDonald and Jesse Joensuu opened the scoring in the first period and Trevor Smith added to his team lead in goals with his 20th of the year in the third. Matt Carkner scored the only Senator goal of the game, coming on the power-play. The Sound Tigers improve their record with the win to 25-12-2-2, giving them 54 points and extending their lead for second place in the East Division to three points over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, who lost tonight to the Albany River Rats.

BEARS 5, SOUND TIGERS 3

Ben Walter extended his goal-scoring streak to three games, scoring twice in the Sound Tigers' 5-3 defeat to the Hershey Bears. Alexandre Giroux, the league's leading goal scorer tallied two markers for the Bears who also received a goal each from Oskar Osala, Mathieu Perrault and Francois Bouchard. Mike Iggulden had the other goal for the Sound Tigers. Nathan Lawson was in net for the Sound Tigers and suffered his first regulation loss of the season despite making 22 saves. The Sound Tigers record drops to 24-12-2-2 with 52 points, keeping them in second place in the East Division, one point in front of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

WOLF PACK 4, SOUND TIGERS 2

Two third period goals from Jordan Owens and Tommy Pyatt helped the Hartford Wolf Pack beat the Sound Tigers 4-2. Jesse Joensuu and Ben Walter had the two tallies for the Sound Tigers. With the loss, the Sound Tigers record drops to 24-11-2-2 leaving them with 52 points and in second place in the East Division by just one point over the idle Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

SOUND TIGERS TRANSACTIONS

G PETER MANNINO and C KURTIS MCLEAN were recalled from loan by the New York Islanders (NHL) on Monday, January 19 - D JACK HILLEN was recalled from loan by the Islanders on Sunday, January 18.
