Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins defeat the Norfolk Admirals 4-3 Sunday afternoon at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The P-Bruins got goals from Vladimir Sobotka, Martins Karsums, Johnny Boychuk and Brad Marchand. The P-Bruins are back at home at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Friday versus the Portland Pirates at 7:05 p.m. for T-Shirt Night.

The P-Bruins got on the board at the 18:02 mark of the opening period. Matt Lashoff sent the puck into the zone off the right boards to Martin St. Pierre. He fed Sobotka crashing the net and Sobotka tipped it in for his fifth goal of the season. Providence went into the first intermission with a 1-0 lead.

The P-Bruins extended their lead to 2-0 at the 2:36 mark of the second period, while on the power play. Sobotka held the puck halfway up the right boards and sent it to Boychuk at the blue line. He took a shot and the puck was tipped into the net by Karsums, who was standing just outside the crease. For Karsums, it was his team leading seventh goal of the season. The Admirals battled back to tie the game at two. Norfolk got on the board at the 2:50 mark. Bracken Kearns tallied his third goal of the season, while Jay Rosehill and Andrew Hutchinson had the assists. Norfolk tied the game at the 13:42 mark on Paul Szczechura's eighth goal of the season, with Radek Smolenak and Daryl Boyle picking up the assists. The game went into the second intermission tied at two.

Norfolk took its first lead of the game at the 4:45 mark of the third period. Juraj Simek netted his fourth goal of the season, while Steve Downie and Andy Rogers recorded the assists. Providence tied the game at three, while on the power play at the 6:46 mark. Karsums held the puck halfway up the left boards and sent it behind the net to Sobotka. He found Boychuk cutting into the right face off circle and Boychuk shot the puck top shelf to score his fourth goal of the season. The P-Bruins took the lead at the 14:07 mark, while on the power play. Byron Bitz tied up the puck along the boards and poked it to Matt Marquardt. He redirected it towards the net and Marchand was there to tip it in for his fourth goal of the season. Providence held on for the 4-3 victory.

Kevin Regan stopped 29 of 32 shots for the P-Bruins, while Karri Ramo made 25 saves for the Admirals. The P-Bruins were 3-for-7 on the power play and 4-for-4 on the penalty kill.
