Grizzlies To Honor Former Captain Rycroft This Weekend

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies announced today that former Captain Travis Rycroft will be the guest of honor this Friday and Saturday when the team hosts Ontario at the E-Center. Both games begin at 7:05 p.m. Rycroft announced his retirement on October 17.

Friday is the team's third-annual "Pink in the Rink" for breast cancer awareness. Saturday is Veteran's Appreciation Night.

Rycroft will be apart of the team's ceremonial puck drops Friday and Saturday. In addition, a highlight video documenting his Utah career will be shown during both games. Rycroft will be signing autographs after Saturday's game. The team will also auction off a special Travis Rycroft #39 "Pink in the Rink" jersey after Friday's game.

"We are excited to have Travis back with us for this special weekend," said Grizzlies CEO Kevin Bruder. "He was always very involved with "Pink in the Rink" and will greatly enhance our night and weekend with his presence as we salute him for the first time since his retirement."

The Grizzlies captain from 2006-2008, Rycroft played in 206 total games with Utah from 2005-2008 tallying 27 goals, 64 assists and 250 penalty minutes.
