New Britain, CT - The New Britain Rock Cats announced two roster transactions today, each one involving a strong right-handed hitter.

1B/OF Brock Peterson, a 24-year-old resident of Chehalis, WA, was promoted to Triple-A Rochester in the International League. The 6'2"/220-pound slugger's advancement occurred over the past weekend following the Rock Cats' Saturday night game in Bowie, MD. A 49th Round pick of the Minnesota Twins out of W.F. West High School (WA) in the 2002 Draft, Peterson spent the better part of two seasons in New Britain. In 2007, he appeared in 112 games for the Rock Cats and batted .285 with 15 Home Runs, 21 Doubles and 64 RBI. In the 2008 campaign, the Centralia, WA native posted a .264 BA, with 111 total Hits in 109 games. Included in those 2008 hits were 14 Home Runs, 32 Doubles and 67 RBI. .

OF Joe Gaetti, the 26-year-old son of former Minnesota Twins' Hall of Famer Gary Gaetti, has been acquired by the Twins in a deal with Oakland and assigned to New Britain. The 5'11"/205-pound Outfielder was originally signed out of North Carolina State by the Colorado Rockies in the 12th Round of 2003 Draft. After five years in the Rockies' system - where he compiled a career Batting Average of .284 while stroking 484 Hits, of which 76 were Home Runs - Gaetti was released by Colorado and signed by Oakland. Most recently playing for Sacramento in the Triple-A Pacific Coast League, the Centralia, IL native appeared in 55 games and batted .263 with 14 Home Runs and 33 RBI. He will join the Rock Cats in Erie, PA in time to play in Thursday night's game when New Britain concludes its current series with the SeaWolves.

The New Britain Rock Cats are the Double-A, Eastern League affiliate of the American League's Minnesota Twins.
