Peter Added to All-Star Roster

COMSTOCK PARK, MI - The Midwest League announced today that Whitecaps center fielder Kyle Peter was added to the Midwest League All-Star game roster, taking one of the spots vacated by Whitecaps Casper Wells and Joe Tucker.

Wells and Tucker were promoted to Double-A Erie last week and will not play in the MWL All-Star game next week. Peter is the sixth Whitecap to be named to the All-Star game this year. Peter is hitting .262 (55-for-210) with 24 RBI, 38 runs scored, 33 walks and 21 stolen bases. His 21 steals is tied for third in the Midwest League leaders.

Peter joins first baseman Chris Carlson and pitchers Jon Kibler and Alfredo Figaro as the Whitecaps representatives for the All-Star game.

The All-Star game will be Tuesday, June 17 at 7:00 p.m. at the Dow Diamond, home of the Great Lakes Loons. The Voice of the Whitecaps Dave Skoczen will be calling the league-wide broadcast, which will be carried locally on WBBL 1340 AM, along with Lansing announcer Brad Tillery with pre-game coverage beginning at 6:05 p.m.
