Additions to Raley Field, New Offerings for Fans Highlight River Cats '08 Season

March 28, 2008 - Pacific Coast League (PCL) Sacramento River Cats

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. - As the Sacramento River Cats approach Opening Day, 2008 (the team's home opener is set for April 11th at Raley Field), the team announced today a myriad of new programs, events and improvements for fans to look for in 2008 at Raley Field. The list is highlighted by the addition of a new color Matrix Board and several new ticket packages for fans and customers of all kinds.

New Ticket Packages -

All-Inclusive Mini-Plan Packages - The team has responded to feedback from their fans with the creation of All-Inclusive Mini Plan packages. The packages, which come in increments of 18 and 36 games, include game tickets, parking and ballpark food, all for one low price. Fans can call (916) 371-HITS or visit Rivercats.com for more information.

The You Pick It Family Ticket Plan - Another new ticket package for the River Cats this year is the 30-Game, You Pick It Family Ticket Plan. The concept allows fans to create their perfect ticket package by picking all the premier event dates that they want to attend and includes tickets to the Sacramento Zoo and Fairytale Town. Fans can call (916) 371-HITS or visit Rivercats.com for more information.

New, Cutting-Edge Matrix Board -.The team is installing a new, 8' x 30' color matrix board in left-center field. The Matrix Board will allow the team to provide fans with more in-game information, including player stats, more frequent scores from around the league and other pertinent information.

Youth Baseball Team Parties - This program provides youth baseball teams the unique experience of a tour of Raley Field during Batting Practice, special recognition during the game and exclusive Founders Club tickets, some of the best in the house. Fans can call (916) 371-HITS or visit Rivercats.com for more information.

River Cats Fan Van - The team will use this new promotional vehicle at countless promotional appearances in the community. On game days, the Van will also be used to transport fans from Raley Field parking lots to the ballpark and back.

Widened Tower Bridge for Easier Fan Access - The cities of Sacramento and West Sacramento worked together to expand the width of the Tower Bridge to allow for increased foot traffic traveling back-and-forth across the Sacramento River. River Cats fans will reap the benefits of this project, as the bridge is an even better option for fans who want to catch a River Cats game as part of a full-day excursion.

New "Robotic" Centerfield Camera - In order to improve the team's in-house television broadcast, the team has added a new, state-of-the-art robotic camera beyond center field. The camera, operated from the Raley Field Control Room, will capture not just the batter on the field, but fan close-ups as well.

Covered Suite Level Bridge - The team has installed an awning over the bridge that connects the Press Box/Luxury Suite level with the main stairway and elevator lobby. The purpose of the awning is to add to the comfort and convenience of the ballpark experience.

Upgrades to Coca-Cola Kids Corner - The team has upgraded the Coca-Cola Kids Corner this year with new games and attractions for younger children, including a sand box, bubble machine, balloons and an inflatable obstacle course. The Coca-Cola Kids Corner is located at the end of the 1st Base side of the concourse near the Raley Field Right Field Gate.

New Apparel and Novelty Items in Raley Field On Deck Shop - The Raley Field On Deck Shop will once again offer a wide variety of merchandise and novelty items for River Cats fans of all ages. New items this year include camouflage caps, five (5) new styles of blankets, Championship Apparel such as the Letterman-esque River Cats Championship jacket and Strawberry Smoothie caps (scratch and sniff) for girls.

New Raley Field Cuisine - Raley Field concessionaire Centerplate will roll-out a number of new items this season, including Funnel Cakes and Specialty Tri-Tip Sandwiches. A complete listing of all new items, as well as a tasting opportunity, will be provided for all credentialed media at a private media ballpark cuisine tasting event as part the River Cats' annual Media Day, April 2nd at Raley Field. For more information, please contact the River Cats media relations department.

Most Creative, Entertaining Promotional Schedule Yet - A promotion on every day of the week, including new Miller Lite 'Que and Brew Thursday nights with $2 Miller Lites, and Nestle Drumstick Family Fun Fridays every Friday night with $1 Nestlé ® Drumsticks ® and $1 Hot Dogs. A wide array of giveaways is also on tap for the season, with Daric Barton Bobbleheads on Friday May 16th for the first 3,000 fans and in celebration of Dinger's Birthday Party, Dinger Piggy Banks on Sunday, July 20th for the first 1,500 kids.
