Crunch shut-out Amerks

(Rochester) The Rochester Americans gave up three third-period goals en route to a 4-0 loss to the Syracuse Crunch tonight at Oncenter in Syracuse. The setback ends the Amerks' winning streak at four games. Rochester's Adam Dennis made 28 saves in net as the Amerks fell to 7-8-1-1.

After a scoreless first, Philippe Dupuis netted his fourth goal of the season on the power play at 2:52 of the second to give Syracuse a 1-0 lead.

Derek Dorset gave the Crunch a two-goal advantage at 3:08 of the third.

Syracuse shut the door as Chris Beech netted an empty-netter with 59 ticks remaining.

The Crunch's fourth goal of the night came off the stick of Derek MacKenzie, who beat Dennis at 19:38 of the third.

Rochester returns to The Blue Cross Arena on Sunday, November 11th to face the Chicago Wolves. As a part of the Amerks' Supercuts $6.00 Sundays, children 12 and under will be admitted for just $6.00. Also, fans can come out to the Distillary on Mt. Hope Avenue following the game for the Amerks' official Postgame Party. Sunday's 6:05 p.m. contest will be broadcast live on Hot Talk 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and B2 Networks.
