
Rock Cats Relief Pitcher Promoted

New Britain Rock Cats News Release
New Britain, CT - The New Britain Rock Cats announced today that left-handed relief specialist, Jose Mijares, has been promoted to Triple-A Rochester in the International League. The move occurred early this morning and the 22-year-old southpaw is expected to join the Red Wings in time for their game tonight.
The 6'0"/ 231-pound Mijares made 15 total appearances for the 2007 Rock Cats, compiling a 1-0 record out of the bullpen, with a team-leading 6 Saves. The Caracas, Venezuela resident has been very effective in his first year with the Rock Cats in the Double-A Eastern League.
Signed by Minnesota as a free agent in 2002, Mijares is currently a member of the Twins' 40-Man Major League Roster. There was no immediate replacement player named to fill the New Britain roster spot made available by his departure.
