
Sidewinders Return Home To Host Portland And Fresno

Tucson, AZ - The Tucson Sidewinders will return from their second roadtrip of the season to host the Portland Beavers (Padres) and the Fresno Grizzlies (Giants) beginning Thursday, April 26th at 6:30 p.m. The 8-game homestand lasts through May 16th and feature the team's Fleece Blanket Giveaway, S.T.A.R./Student Resource Day, Fireworks Friday and two Thirsty Thursdays!
The first 2,000 fans with paid admission on Saturday, April 28th will receive a Sidewinders Fleece Blanket commemorating the Tucson 2006 Championship season. Sunday's game will be a 1:30 matinee, giving fans a chance to catch the Sidewinders under the sun before the summer temperatures set in.
On Tuesday, May 1 the Sidewinders will host nearly 10,000 students at the annual S.T.A.R./Student Resource Day (formerly known as D.A.R.E/G.R.E.A.T.) at 10:00 a.m. with gates opening at 8:30 a.m. The event will be free to all registered classes (K-8) and will emphasize the importance of living drug and gang free.
The Sidewinders are 2-1 on their current 4-game road trip to Fresno and can seal a series victory with a win tonight at Chukchansi Field at 7:05 p.m. (local Tucson time). Tucson is just 2.5 games behind the division leading Sacramento River Cats heading into tonight's action.

$1 HOT DOGS! $1 hot dogs for everyone. All Little League and girl's softball teams in southern Arizona are invited to attend "Little League Day and participate in the pre-game parade beginning at 1:00 p.m. Wear your uniform, and get in for free!

S.T.A.R./STUDENT RESOURCE PROGRAM DAY! The School Resource Program administered by the Tucson Police Department and Student Training and Response (STAR) under the auspices of the Pima County Sheriff's Department are again teaming-up with the Tucson Sidewinders in 2007 for another exciting day of baseball fun! All schools (K-8) throughout southern Arizona are invited. Schools do not have to be participants in the STAR School Resource programs to attend. Enjoy a free ballgame and lunch!
