San Antonio Rampage News Release

SAN ANTONIO (April 3, 2007) - The San Antonio Rampage are proud to announce that defenseman Logan Stephenson has been named the team's winner of the American Specialty/AHL Man of the Year award for his outstanding contributions to the San Antonio community during the 2006-07 season.

"It shows his character when a young person (Logan) gets involved and supports community interests," head coach Pat Conacher said. "It's a much deserved award for his hard work on and off the ice."

Missing only three games to date, the 21-year-old rookie has been the most active player in the Rampage's community relations efforts. Stephenson has made appearances ranging from reading to kids at schools, serving as a representative in commercials promoting theme nights, skating with fans after a game, to actively participating in the Rampage's 12-Days of Giving. The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native has also participated in numerous events with our loyal season ticket holders.

The Rampage gave back to their community this season in a special way with their "12-Days of Giving" initiative, where the team provided a charitable act or donation for 12 consecutive days leading up to Christmas. Logan played a big role in helping to spread holiday cheer by handing out presents at a local Children's Shelter and spending time with Special Olympics athletes.

In recognition of his efforts, Stephenson will be presented with an etched crystal trophy during an on-ice presentation prior to an upcoming Rampage home game.

Stephenson is now one of 27 finalists for the AHL's 2006-07 Yanick Dupre Memorial Award, honoring the overall American Specialty/AHL Man of the Year. The league award is named after the former Hershey Bears forward and AHL All-Star who died in 1997 following a 16-month battle with leukemia. The winner of the Yanick Dupre Memorial Award will be announced later this month.
