Connecticut Whale News Release
Hartford, April 3, 2007: Hartford Wolf Pack general manager/head coach Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the Wolf Pack have signed defenseman Bobby Sanguinetti to an Amateur Tryout (ATO) agreement.
Sanguinetti, a first-round draft pick (21st overall) by the parent New York Rangers in 2006, recently completed his third season with the Owen Sound Attack of the OHL, where the 19-year-old blueliner appeared in 67 regular-season games, tallying 23 goals and 30 assists for 53 points and 48 penalty minutes. Sanguinetti was the team's top-scoring defenseman and finished fifth overall on the team in points and tied for fifth in goals. He also finished the season second among OHL defenseman in goals and tenth in points. During playoffs, the 6-2, 190-pound native of Trenton, NJ was the Attack's leading playoff point-scorer with six points in four games, and tied for the team lead in goals with three. During the 2006-07 season, Sanguinetti also made his second consecutive appearance in the OHL All-Star Classic, skating for the Western Conference side. During the 2005-2006 season, Sanguinetti notched 14 goals and 51 assists for 65 points and 44 penalty minutes in 68 games. This was good for fourth on the Owen Sound in points and second in assists, along with fourth in the league amongst defenseman in points and second in assists.
The Pack are scheduled for another hectic four-game week this week hosting the Portland Pirates at home tomorrow (7:00 PM start), followed by a road trip to Worcester on Friday night to take on the Sharks (7:00 PM faceoff) in the last regular-season battle between the two clubs. The Pack then return to Hartford, hosting the Springfield Falcons on Saturday (7:00 PM start) for the last DATTCO I-91 challenge game of the year. The weekend concludes with a visit by the Albany River Rats on Sunday (4:00 PM faceoff). Sunday's game will be televised LIVE on Fox Sports Net New England with Bob Crawford (play-by-play), P.J.
