Jimmy Bonneau reassigned to Cincinnati

HAMILTON, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs announced today that the Montreal Canadiens have reassigned forward Jimmy Bonneau to the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL.

Bonneau, 21, joined the Bulldogs on February 16th, 2007, and appeared in nine games going scoreless with 59 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-3, 224-pound winger registered 17 penalty minutes in his first-career AHL game on February 18th against the Hershey Bears. Bonneau then recorded a Bulldogs' team-high the next night with 20 penalty minutes on February 19th against the Syracuse Crunch.

The native of Baie-Comeau, Quebec has also registered six points (2-4-6) and 89 penalty minutes in 44 contests with the Cincinnati Cyclones this season. Bonneau played in 65 games with the ECHL's Long Beach Ice Dogs during the 2005-06 season, accumulating six points (1-5-6) and 137 penalty minutes.

Bonneau was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the 8th round, 241st overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

In operation since 1936, the American Hockey League is the top development league for all 30 National Hockey League teams. Over 80 percent of NHL players are AHL graduates, and more than 350 AHL players were recalled to the NHL during the 2005-2006 season alone.
