CHARLESTON, WV (June 15, 2006) - The West Virginia Power, Class A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers have made another roster move.
Today, left handed pitcher Dave Welch was activated from the disabled list and right handed pitcher Steve Palazzolo was sent back to extended spring training to make room for Welch.
Welch went 2-3 with a 3.15 ERA over 10 games and seven starts with the Power before going on the disabled list last week due to back spasms. Welch will be the starting pitcher for tonight's game against Hagerstown.
Palazzolo has now been sent down to extended spring training twice. Palazzolo, a six foot ten inch right hander from North Reading Massachusetts went 1-0 with an 8.25 ERA over 10 games before being sent down.
The Power will finish the four game series against the Hagerstown Suns in Hagerstown, Maryland on Thursday night. Hagerstown will start right hander Jeff Landing (2-9, 4.64) and the Power will counter with left hander Dave Welch (2-3, 3.15). The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
