TODAY'S OPPONENT: The Round Rock Express are the Triple-A affiliate of the Houston Astros. This is their first season in the Pacific Coast League. A team by the same name played in the Double-A Texas League from 2000-2004. The Astros' Triple-A affiliate was the New Orleans Zephyrs from 1997-2004. The Edmonton Trappers moved to Round Rock after last season. Round Rock is a suburb of Austin , Texas , about 18 miles north of Texas ' capital city.
TODAY'S GAME: The RedHawks continue their series with Round Rock. Oklahoma is 3-11 on Fridays. Calvin Simmons will sing tonight's national anthem. Tonight is Faith Night with fireworks presented by McDonald's. The MidFirst Bank Dash for Cash for kids 12 and under and the OHSO autograph session will take place prior to the game. Nolan Ryan bobbleheads sponsored by York International will be given away tomorrow to the first 2,500 fans.
STANDINGS: The RedHawks are in second place, 4.5 games behind Albuquerque .
LAST GAME: Catcher Keith McDonald drove in both RedHawk runs in their 9-2 loss to Round Rock. McDonald had a two-RBI double in the second inning that tied the game. The Express scored a run in the sixth and five more in the seventh to break the game open. Mike Coolbaugh had four RBIs for Round Rock and Jason Botts had a two-hit game for the RedHawks.
VS. ROUND ROCK: Jason Conti is batting .292 [7-for-24] with five RBIs in five games against the Express. Michael Tejera has not allowed a run in three appearances [four innings] against them.
PITCHING MATCHUP: Oklahoma 's Derek Lee makes his fifth start for the RedHawks this season. He lost his only start at SBC Bricktown Ballpark, going six innings and giving up three runs on eight hits in a game the RedHawks lost 3-0. In games he has started outside of New Mexico , Lee is 0-1 with a 2.37 ERA [5ER, 19IP].
STREAKERS: Relief pitcher Jose Veras has not given up a run in his last six appearances [four innings]. He has seven strikeouts and three walks in his last six outings. Ian Kinsler is 0-for-16 with a walk and two RBIs in his last four games.
THIRD PLACE : The RedHawks are currently in a tie for second place with Round Rock. A loss tonight would put them in third place in their division for the first time since May 24. They swept a doubleheader with Colorado Springs on May 25 to jump from third to first place.
THREE GAMES UNDER: The RedHawks have not been three games under .500 since they were 2-5 on April 13. They have won when two games under .500 three times since then.
DOT-DOT-DOTS: Last night, Keith McDonald had his first multi-RBI game since he had two RBIs June 17 against New Orleans .
