20th Gull Makes MLB Debut

September 16, 2019 - NEWPORT, RI- This past weekend the Newport Gulls had their 20th former player make their Major League debut and fourth during the 2019 Season. Right-handed pitcher James Karinchak toed the rubber for the first time in a major league game on Saturday, September 14 for the Cleveland Indians. Karinchak joined the Gulls after his freshman season at Bryant University for the summer of 2015. August 15, 2019 - NEWPORT, R.I. - Newport saw its 2019 season come to an end just one game shy of playing in the NECBL championship after falling to the Martha's Vineyard Sharks in game three of the Southern Division Championship Series. August 15, 2019 - NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Mystic catcher Michael Caruso (Fairfield) has been named the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL)'s Sportsman of the Year for the 2019 season, as announced Thursday.
