April 1, 2026 - Abbotsford Canucks General Manager, Ryan Johnson, announced today that the club has signed forward Braden Birnie to a professional try-out agreement. Birnie, 24, recently made his professional hockey debut with the ECHL's Rapid City Rush on March 12 and has since recorded six points (two goals, four assists) in his first nine pro games played. Jiří Patera got the nod for back-to-back starts, taking on Tomas Suchanek at the other end.
