
Zephyrs Lose To Isotopes 7-4

The Zephyrs allowed three runs in the sixth inning and the Albuquerque Isotopes defeated the Z's 7-4 on Sunday afternoon in New Mexico. New Orleans starter Jason Vargas allowed seven runs, six earned in five and two thirds innings and suffered his first loss of the year. The left hander pitched for the Isotopes last season. The Z's trailed 2-0 in the third inning when Jason Alfaro drilled a solo home run to left field. The Z's took the lead in fourth inning scoring three times. Ricky Ledee drove in a pair of runs with a double and Sandy Alomar, Jr also had an RBI. The Z's chased Isotope starter Nic Ungs out of the game after four innings. The Albuquerque bullpen worked five innings and shut the Zephyrs offense down, Rich Dorman earned the win and Nate Field saved it.
