Memphis, Tenn. - A four-run first inning led Memphis to their second straight win over visiting Omaha on Sunday afternoon at AutoZone Park.

The Redbirds needed just two hits to put four runs on the board in the first and grab an early lead. Ryan Ludwick's double drove in two runs before Tagg Bozied's single knocked in Ludwick. Rick Ankiel capped the rally on a groundout that scored Bozied. The 'Birds put the game away in the third inning with three more runs, including Bozied's two-run home run. Bozied finished the day with a pair of hits and three RBI while extending his hit streak to seven games.

Billy Butler led the way for the Royals with four RBI and three hits, including a mammoth three-run homer in the ninth inning. Fernando Cortez chipped in a pair of hits in a losing effort.

Mike Smith picked up the win for Memphis after six solid innings. He allowed two runs on four hits with six strikeouts to earn his second win of the year. Tyler Lumsden took the loss for Omaha after allowing seven runs on five hits in three innings.

The 'Birds and Royals will play tomorrow night at 7:10 p.m. Left-hander Chris Narveson will toe the rubber for the home team and face Omaha right-hander Dewon Brazelton.
